Some of the most important monasteries are:
Giromeri’s Monastery: The monastery which is dedicated to Assumption of the Virgin Mary, was built around 1300 A.D. It features excellent religiouς icons painted about 1679 A.D The Monastery has been visited daily from sunrise to sunset. It is 8 km away from Filiates and 23 km away from Igoumenitsa.
Ragio’s Monastery: It is erected on the left side of the road of Igoumenitsa to Sagiada, and is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. In the past it has been plundered many times. Nowadays, is restored and open to visitors all day . There has been also a small monastic community installed.

TOWER of Ragios
The only area which is open to the public, today in Thesprotia is situated 9 km northwest of the town of Igoumenitsa.
TITANI (GITANI)
Located 1 km southeast of the dam of Kalama. It has been the political center of Thesprotia and tha second most ancient capital of Thesprotia. The ancient theater outside the walls of the ancient settlement was used for theatrical events and political rallies too.
DYMOKASTRO
Located 8 km southwest of the community of Perdika. A fortified coastal settlement of the Late Classical and Hellenistic periods. Attraction for the visitors is the unique from archaeological site view to the Ionian Sea and the Karavostasi beach.
SOULI
The Heroic and glorious village which is located 73 km away from Igoumenitsa, is renowned for the glorious fights of its inhabitants against the Turks. Every year events are organized to represent the blasting of the monastery of Kougiou by monk Samuel.
TZAVELAINAS LADDER
The ladder of Tzavelena is a historic location at the Strait of Acheron well known for its natural beauty. For this reason trail paths have been created following the banks of the Acheron river and leading either through the bridge of Dallas in the Samoniva village, where everyone can visit the castle of Kiafa or Kougi by following another route to reach the gates of Hades.
